This was our Open Studios for Christmas 2010. We had decided only to open for one weekend just before Christmas – but we hadn’t expected such difficult weather! There was heavy snow most of the week before – here’s a photo of the studio in the garden on the Friday! 
The studio has most of its light coming in through the roof normally, so it was very dark inside with the snow covering it. We spent most of the day clearing the snow from the path and from the studio roof, also from the roof of the printmaking studio.
It must have worked like a rain dance – overnight on Friday all the snow disappeared! So we opened on Saturday with no problems at all.
It was good to see so many people and to have such intense discussions about our work. Several people have said how much they like to look through my source books (these are like a sketch book but repositories for ideas related to whichever project I’m working on).
